Director Lenin Rajendran's Idavapathy has been in a fix ever since actor Jagathy Sreekumar's accident, which had happened while the actor was travelling to the film's sets on March 10. The versatile actor was cast to play a double role, and the team is now finding it difficult to find another actor of Jagathy's calibre to play the "highly prominent role." Incidentally, Jagathy had not started shooting for the film and so his role needn't be re-shot with another actor like how it was done for Mr Marumakan, for which Baburaj filled in.
An inside source tells us that Kollywood actor Nasser has been in talks to replace Jagathy in the film, which also stars
Manisha Koirala, Yodha fame Siddharth Lama and Uttara Unni. Nassar had earlier acted in Mollywood flicks such as Ghazal, Kulam and Butterflies
However, director Lenin says that they are still hunting for another actor. "Although Nassar was my first choice as a replacement, we were unable to get both Manisha's and Nassar's dates together. But the decision will be made in few days as we've invested so much money and can't keep stalling any longer," he says.
