Actress Nandita Das, who was last seen in Neerparavai, is back in Kollywood with a yet-to-be-titled project which will have poet and lyricist Kutti Revathi at the helm. The film, which will also have Samuthirakani playing a pivotal role, will be based on the rampant violence against women in the household. 'The movie will reflect the various sufferings several women face within their own families in Tamil Nadu. I felt Samuthirakani and Nandita Das would be apt for the lead roles. Both of them agreed to be part of the project after listening to the script, which has been penned by writer Damayanthi. Samuthirakani's character is tailor-made for him and only he could pull it off, so, I approached him first. Nandita Das is currently busy with a film of hers and she is expected to join us after its completion,' says Kutti Revathi.
She clarifies that while the film cannot be classified as a women-centric film, it will be from the perspective of a woman because it is being directed by a woman filmmaker.
The film is likely to go on floors on September. The director adds that she has a title in mind for it, but it could change, as she's looking for something which would make the film attractive in terms of business.
