Actor Nakkhul will be playing the protagonist in a new comedy film titled

Vascodagama

, directed by debutant RG Krishnan. The first-look poster of the film, which was revealed by the film’s makers on

Vinayaga Chaturthi

, is a parody of

Rudolph Zallinger

’s popular illustration, ‘

The March of Progress

’.

Talking about the poster, Krishnan says, “We wanted to convey the journey of the lead character through this poster. The film will be a slightly unique commercial movie that will convey the lead’s troubles in a comic manner, especially with dark humour. We felt this poster, showing the evolution of the character, would work well.”

The title is an abbreviation of the names of the principal characters in the film. Nakkhul will be seen in the role of Vasudevan. “His character is someone who should act as a good boy. Nakkhul was so excited about this role that he signed on the dotted line the very next day after my narration,” he adds.

KS Ravikumar

, Munishkanth, and Mottai Rajendran will be playing crucial characters in the film, which will be shot next month in sets put up in Chennai.

“We are yet to finalise the actors who will be playing the heroine and villain,” informs Krishna, who has previously assisted Deekay in the yet-to-be-released

Katteri

, and has done a pilot film titled Devadas Parvathy.
