Director Manivannan is set to make a comeback with his 50th directorial venture 'Nagaraja Cholan MA, MLA', a sequel to his 1994 political drama 'Amaidhi Padai' which has Sathyaraj in the lead role and is expected to hit the screens on April 14, that is, Tamil New Year.Nagaraja Cholan MA, MLA, the film has Allakai Ammavasai from
Amaidhi Padai as the central character.
The film deals about his transformation as Nagaraja Cholan and his political career. In the sequel, Sathyaraj is playing a deputy chief minister and Seeman is playing a lorry driver. The story is about the latter trying to expose the evil deeds of the former. Mridula, Komal Sharma and Varsha play the lead ladies.
The project is being produced by S Ravichandran and K Suresh under V House Productions.
Amaidhi Padai had Satyaraj playing a double role, that of the son and father. But the upcoming sequel, which also stars Satyaraj, doesn't offer him the double role.
