Parthiban, a leading actor and director of Tamil cinema, last acted in and directed the film 'Teenz.' It is noteworthy that Parthiban is currently directing and starring in his new film, 'Naan Thaan CM.' He released the first-look poster of the film and posted it on social media a few days back.
Social media backlash erupts
The controversy arose from the use of the name of the Sinthanai Sirpi Singaravelan in that post, as well as the mention of words like the BOT symbol and the Sothu party. Many people expressed criticism against this on social media. Meanwhile, Parthiban issued a clarification on his official social media platforms, clarifying that all the names used in the film are fictitious names. He also mentioned that the name is chosen because it rhymes with the letter 'C' in the film's title.
Parthiban clarifies the issue and agrees to a change.
Parthiban also said that he would gladly agree to immediately change the name, which appeared to refer to the respected Singaravelan. But he has said that he will not remove the words "Bhoj" and "Chothu party" from the film and that the film does not need advertisements like the blockade protest. Parthiban has emphasized that the film's story and fictional setting are being preserved and that the way it is portrayed will not be distorted so as not to create confusion in the minds of fishermen and the public. Through this, he has given a direct explanation for the controversy that arose before the release of the film 'Naan Thaan CM.'
