Seventeen years after he made the multi-starrer Kandukondain Kandukondain, cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Rajiv Menon is directing a film again — Sarvam Thaala Mayam, a musical which stars GV Prakash Kumar and Aparna Balamurali (of 8 Thotakkal and Maheshinte Prathikaram fame) in the lead roles. Veteran Malayalam actor Nedumuni Venu plays a crucial role in this film.
The music of the film is by the director’s friend and frequent collaborator, AR Rahman. Interestingly, it will feature a song written by the late lyricist Na Muthukumar.
Apparently, the two-time National Award-winning lyricist had written this song just a week before he passed away on August 14, 2016. “It was his last song, he wrote it a week before his untimely demise,” tweeted the filmmaker on the lyricist being part of the film. Madhan Karky and Neruppuda fame Arunraja Kamaraj are writing the other songs in the film, which went on floors last Wednesday.
