My next film would be on an escapist subject

Irudhi Suttru director Sudha Kongara is a happy woman. Her recent directorial venture has received praise from many and she believes that six years of hard work has eventually been paid off. Amid basking in the success, the director has moved on to her next. ���Yes, I didn���t take a break after Irudhi Suttru and have begun penning the script for my next project. I would say it would be a life-affirming kind of film. We are going through difficult times and there is a lot of negativity around. This would be an escapist kind of film.���

Sudha is also elated about remaking Irudhi Suttru in Telugu. She says, ���Venkatesh will play Madhavan���s role. We are just waiting for his dates. And once that is finalised, we will start shooting for the film. Ritika (Singh) will reprise her character.��� But ask the director if she didn���t think of making the Telugu version during the shoot as it is her mother tongue? She says, ���In fact, the bilingual (Saala Khadoos in Hindi) itself was an afterthought. After Maddy said yes to the film, we wondered why not exploit his pan-Indian market? But even before the release, Rana Daggubati had called us stating that his uncle wanted to watch the film. Venkatesh was quite impressed with the role and I thought he would perfectly fit the bill for the Telugu version. And yes, I am a Telugu, but I moved to Chennai when I was 3 years old. I understand the Tamil culture better.��� explains.
