Kollywood audience was in for yet another shock in the midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic when news of actor-dermatologist Dr Sethuraman surfaced online today. Kollywood cinema has given some of the best actors to the audience and they have always remembered the artists even after their demise. Fans have never been stingy when it comes to praising talented artists, even if they have played supporting roles. Some stars have been so loved by the audience that their sudden deaths have been mourned by millions as precious gems have been lost from the world. Watching their movies and revering their skills has been the only way then to pay back for what the arty souls gave to the world. From Sethuraman to Murali, here are the five unbelievable demises that shocked Kollywood.

​Sethuraman - 2020

Sethuraman was known by his stage name Sethu and he was also a leading dermatologist in South India. Dr. Sethuraman passed away due to a cardiac arrest at his residence in Chennai yesterday on March 26, 2020 at the young age of 36. Even though he had acted in only four Tamil films 'Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya', 'Vaaliba Raja', 'Sakka Podu Podu Raja', and '50/50', he had earned good friends in the industry. Also, as a full-time dermatologist, Sethuraman was a favorite among most of the stars due to his kind treatments and cool nature.

​JK Rithesh - 2019

Politician and actor JK Rithesh passed away due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 46 while he was campaigning in his hometown Ramanathapuram for a political party during the last Lok Sabha Election held in 2019. JK Rithesh was last seen in the film LKG, which had RJ Balaji and Priya Anand in the lead roles, and he had played a negative role in the film. Many politicians and Kollywood stars were shocked by the demise of JK Rithesh and shared their condolences.

​Sridevi - 2018

A well-known actress, Padma Shri Sridevi was found dead in the bathroom of her hotel room in Dubai in February 2018. She died at the age of 54 in Dubai, where she had travelled to attend her nephew's wedding along with her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi Kapoor. The sudden and unexpected demise of the healthy actress had shocked the whole country. Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor had broken down in sorrow after her demise, and even now, the pain is visible on the producer’s face every time he speaks about his wife Sridevi in his interviews.

​Na Muthukumar - 2016

Popular lyricist Na Muthukumar died due to jaundice when he was just 41. National Award-winning lyricist Na Muthukumar had worked with many musicians in Tamil, and he had written some wonderful lyrics for songs. His place in the industry still remains vacant, and some music directors really miss the genius lyricist. Na Muthukumar had given songs for various human emotions to the industry including those about life, love, anger, hungry and event some inspirational songs. Na Muthukumar had written lyrics for more than 1000 songs, and he holds a special record for writing 103 songs in the year 2012.

​Murali - 2010

On September 8, 2010, actor Murali suffered a massive cardiac arrest in the early morning and died before he arrived at the hospital. Murali passed away at the age of 46, and his death shocked the Tamil film industry. The actor made his debut in Tamil cinema with the 1984 film 'Poovilangu', which was directed by Amirjan and last played a cameo role in his son Atharvaa's debut 2010 film 'Baana Kaathadi', which was directed by Badri Venkatesh.
