Mohanlal wraps up shoot for Rajinikanth's ‘Jailer 2’; Shah Rukh Khan steps back from cameo - Reports

The shooting of 'Jailer 2,' starring Rajinikanth and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is currently in its final phase. The film is one of the most-awaited projects in Indian cinema after the huge success of the first part.Now, a report from Cinema Express suggests that Mohanlal has wrapped up shooting for his portions in the sequel. The news became an instant hit after Jishad Shamsudeen, the actor's stylist, posted on social media to indicate that the star has finished shooting for the movie. Mohanlal’s role in the first film was a hit with the audience and they are eager to see him in the sequel. In the 2023 film 'Jailer,' Mohanlal portrayed Matthew, a heartless mafia don who assisted Rajinikanth's character, Muthuvel Pandian, in overcoming the villain during the final scenes. Mohanlal’s famous dialogue, ‘Entha Mone?’, became a sensational hit and spread across social media. Because of the strong response to his appearance in the first film, the makers reportedly decided to bring him back in the sequel as well.While Mohanlal has completed his shoot, earlier reports suggested that Shah Rukh Khan would also join the film for a special appearance. The Bollywood star was reportedly expected to shoot his portions in Hyderabad and had planned to allot a few days for the schedule. Although fresh information suggests that Shah Rukh Khan declined the role because of his fully booked schedule. On the other hand, the producers of 'Jailer 2' have not confirmed anything, but the rumors have sparked a debate among fans. They wait to see if there will be another guest appearance in the movie with Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, and Shivarajkumar.Aside from Rajinikanth and Mohanlal, 'Jailer 2' may also see the return of Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan, and Shivarajkumar. Actors Vijay Sethupathi, Jatin Sarna, and Suraj Venjaramoodu are also said to be joining the film. Reports suggest that the official release date announcement could arrive on April 14, coinciding with the Tamil New Year. If everything goes as planned, the film may hit theatres in August, promising a massive cinematic event for fans.
