With Vijay's 'Leo' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj gearing up for release on October 19, 2023, the star actor is getting ready to begin shooting for his next film tentatively known as 'Thalapathy 68' directed by Venkat Prabhu. The latest buzz is that actress Meenaakshi Chaudhary, who made her Tamil debut with Vijay Antony-starrer 'Kolai' this year, has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Vijay in the film.
Interestingly, we had earlier reported that actress Priyanka Mohan is most likely to pair up with Vijay as the female lead. The film is said to be a complete action thriller, that will have Vijay playing dual roles. So, Meenakshi Chaudhary is most likely to play the pair of one of the Vijay in the film. However, an official confirmation from the team is still awaited.
The film's pooja apparently happened earlier today and the team will begin shooting for a song sequence from tomorrow in Chennai. The first schedule of shooting will happen in Chennai and the team will move abroad for the second schedule of shooting. Earlier last month, actor Vijay went to Los Angeles along with director Venkat Prabhu for a 3D VFX scan of himself for the film.
Meanwhile, actress Meenakshi Chaudhary will also be seen in RJ Balaji-starrer 'Singapore Saloon' directed by Gokul. The film features RJ Balaji as a hairstylist with Sathyaraj, Lal, Robo Shankar, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Shivani Rajashekar in important roles, while director Lokesh Kanagaraj and actor Jiiva will be appearing in cameo roles.
