'Master' to 'Annaatthe': Five films that missed to release in 2020

At the start of this, no one would have thought that 2020 will be the most damaging one because of the Coronavirus attack. The pandemic spread has limited the life of many, and this year has been low on entertainment. Many movie releases have been affected because of the theater shut down, and the film shootings were put on hold. Here is a look at the five films that are missed to release in 2020.

'Master'

Vijay's 'Master' was a highly affected film because the film release was postponed with just a few days to hit the big screens. Vijay played the role of a professor for the first time in his career. There were also high expectations from the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial. But 'Master' makers are working hard to make the film release for the first festival of 2021 Pongal. 'Master' also has Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, and many others.

Vikram and his team were sent back to India, while they were shooting for 'Cobra' in Russia. They thought of wrapping up the film before the pandemic turned into a serious one, but the pandemic got spread faster than they expected. Recently, the 'Cobra' shooting resumed in Chennai, and the makers have improved the film well using the time they got because of the lockdown. Vikram will be seen in a record number of looks, and the film has music scored by AR Rahman.

Ajith's 'Valimai' was first planned to hit the big screens for Diwali 2020, and the star was set to clash with Superstar Rajinikanth at the box office. But the film couldn't complete the filming because of the lockdown, and it pushed to a later date. 'Valimai' final schedule of shooting is currently on, and the makers are eager to make the film a special one for the fans.

'Jagame Thanthiram'

It's always a hard one when you are not allowed to submit your finished work. Likewise, with all works completed for Dhanush's 'Jagame Thanthiram', the film has failed to hit the big screens because the theaters were shut down. The makers are keen on releasing the film in theaters first, as it was made for the fans to celebrate in theaters. Dhanush will be seen in two different looks in the film, and fans are highly waiting to see his character as Suruli.

'Annaatthe'

Rajinikanth surprised his fans by joining hands with director Siruthai Siva, and the film started rolling officially last December. Now, the filming of 'Annaatthe' is at top gears, and it is expected to be wrapped by early January. Touted to be a village drama, the film has many popular stars, while D Imman is scoring music for Rajinikanth for the first time.
