Mahendran has been getting plenty of offers. While he already has a couple of projects in the pipeline, the actor will be seen in a gangster thriller, titled
Amigo Garage
. Directed by debutant
Prashanth Nagarajan
, the team will begin the film’s shooting in August.
Talking about the film, Prashanth says, “The story takes places around a garage and hence the title. People have a certain image of gangsters, thanks to what we see on celluloid. But if you get into the lives of these gangsters, there are several emotions at play. For starters, they yearn to lead a normal life, without having to hide from their enemies. We delve into that emotion.”
While Mahendran plays a happy-go-lucky youngster, the film also has GM Sundar who plays one of the leads. Newbie Adhira from Kerala plays Mahendran’s pair and Dasarthy of Kanaa and RK Nagar fame will be seen in an important role. “We will be shooting in Hosur and Chennai,” says Prashanth, who left his corporate job to pursue his passion.
