Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has a slew of films lined up, and one among them is Colors. According to its producer Aji Idicula, the shooting of the project, which has a novel subject, was wrapped up a few days before the lockdown.
He says, “Colors is directed by Mollywood filmmaker Nissar, and is a family thriller which has touched upon a never-before-attempted subject in south cinema.

It has suspense and action apart from a message that will be relevant for today’s society. Varalaxmi will be seen in an action avatar, though her role has more than one dimension. Martial arts comes as an important element in the film. Ineya and Mollywood actress Divya Pillai, too, play crucial roles in the movie, which has Motta Rajendran, Thulasi, Balasaravanan, Baby Aradhika and Madhumitha in supporting roles.”
Aji informs that another highlight of the film is Ramkumar, son of Sarathkumar’s elder brother, who will be making his screen debut. “With him and Varalaxmi being first cousins, their coming together on screen will be interesting to watch," he assures.
He stresses that he would prefer releasing his film in movie halls. "We made the content for theatre and we are only left with the censor process. But we will take a decision on release depending on how the situation pans out,” he adds.
SP Venkatesh has composed music for the film, which has Piraisoodan translating the screenplay by Prasad Parappuram into Tamil.
