Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' to release in theatres: Makers

', which is based on the story of the historic novel of the same title written by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. The historic drama is planned to be released in two parts and its first part 'PS-1' is announced to release in 2022 Summer. However, a buzz is doing the rounds that Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' will be released directly on OTT, and the makers have fixed a huge deal while on the other hand the makers have clarified the report in their latest interaction with an online portal and confirmed that 'Ponniyin Selvan' both parts will release in theaters first.

Reportedly, 'Ponniyin Selvan' is made for the audience to enjoy on big screens, and the post-production work has been progressing steadily. Mani Ratnam is keenly working on the project as he aims to strike big with the high budget drama. The film applies a record number of graphic works and technicians from foreign countries have been involved in the project.

'Ponniyin Selvan' features Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and several others, and their characters were introduced a few months back. AR Rahman has composed the music while the cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman. The film is bankrolled by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies in association with Lyca Productions.
