Major portions of Vidaarth’s 25th film have been shot in a hospital

The title of Vidaarth’s 25th film was revealed amidst much fanfare online by celebrities from across the south film industry. Titled Carbon, the thriller is being directed by Srinivasan (of Annadurai fame) and co-stars Dhanya Balakrishnan in the lead.
Ask Srinivasan about the title, and he explains, “The film is based on dreams, and explores what will happen if everything a person dreams about happens in real life.We felt Carbon was apt because when you use a carbon sheet to write, the words get duplicated on another sheet of paper.”
The director adds that the team chose to push the release of the film because they couldn’t arrive at the perfect title. “I had about 20 options for titles, but I wasn’t satisfied with anything I had. We were planning this film as a March release, but we chose to push it till we got the right title,” he says.
Another interesting aspect is that the team shot major portions of the film at a hospital in Chennai. “We have shot in live locations. A hospital plays an important part in the script and after much hunting around, we got permission to shoot at a hospital in Tambaram. We shot in November and followed all the precautions to the T. Only those who were involved in a shot were allowed inside the premises and everyone else would wait outside, away from the location. We completed the shoot safely, in time,” he says.
Srinivasan has roped in Sam CS to compose the music. “The rerecording is on, and we will release the trailer in the next couple of weeks,” he signs off.
