Vijay and Mahesh Babu are two leading stars in the Tamil and Telugu industries, and the former has remade two films of the latter. Both have a huge fan following, and they are also good friends. Now, the latest report suggests that Mahesh Babu is to play a crucial role in Vijay's 'Thalapathy 66'. Vijay is currently working with director Vamshi Paidipally, who last directed Mahesh Babu's 'Maharishi'. Mahesh Babu has now been approached to play a cameo role in 'Thalapathy 66', and he will also be reportedly giving the introduction for the film's characters. So, Mahesh Babu is the one who is going to set the build-up for Vijay, and the union of two top stars increases expectations.

'Thalapathy 66' current schedule of shooting is underway in Chennai, and a set is erected in a film city for the film shoot. The team will be again heading to Hyderabad for the next schedule, and the entire filming of the film is expected to be wrapped up in August. Vijay will be seen in a cool young look, and a glimpse of it was revealed by the picture leaked from the shooting spot.

Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead, while the film also has Prakash Raaj, Prabhu, Srinath, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Khushbu, Sangeetha, and Samyuktha Shanmuganathan among others. Thaman takes care of the film, and it marks his first union with Vijay.
