'Maharaja' makers gift a luxurious car to director Nithilan Swaminathan

Vijay Sethupathi's film Maharaja has made waves in the Chinese market, becoming the most searched Kollywood film of 2024 on Google. Its success in China highlights the growing appeal of Tamil cinema in international markets. Following the back-to-back triumph of 'Maharaja', the makers of the film have honored the film's director Nithilan Swaminathan by gifting a luxurious car to the director. The new luxurious car is said to be worth Rs 80lakh, and the makers shared a video from the presentation moment to express their gratitude for the director. The happy faces of Nithilan Swaminathan in the latest video reflect the director's joy at the film's success and owning his new car.


'Maharaja', which earned Rs 110 crore during its initial June release, has grossed more than 80 crores after its China release, and the film's overall collection has reached Rs 190 crore. 'Maharaja' is nearing the 200 crore mark, and the film is earning a solid response in the Chinese market even in its third week of release in China. 'Maharaja' is already the highest-grossing Tamil film in China, and it leads Rajinikanth's 'Kabali', Sivakarthikeyan's 'Kanaa', and Vijay's 'Mersal'.

'Maharaja' is an intense action-drama centered around a man’s journey of revenge, redemption, and self-discovery amidst power struggles and conspiracies. The film explores themes of justice, loyalty, and resilience as the protagonist faces overwhelming adversities. Vijay Sethupathi plays the lead role, delivering a powerful performance. Anurag Kashyap, Natty, Singam Puli, and Abhirami in crucial roles, and the film had music composed by Ajanesh Loknath.
