Madras High Court dismisses 'Pithamagan' producer's case against Bala

Directed by Bala, the 2003 Tamil release 'Pithamagan' features Chiyaan Vikram and Suriya in the lead roles. The film produced by VA Durai was a huge hit at the box office, while Chiyaan Vikram bagged the National Award for Best Actor. But producer VA Durai had been suing the court many years ago and claimed that he had incurred a loss in the production of this film. So, the 'Pithamagan' producer demanded director Bala to pay him 25 lakh rupees. In this situation, VA Durai passed away last year due to ill health. However, the investigation of the case filed by VA Durai has been going on at a fast pace since his demise. Now, the Chennai City Law Court has dismissed the case filed by the producer VA Durai.

It was said that before the case was filed by producer VA Durai, director Bala had helped him a lot on several occasions. But it is surprising why the producer VA Durai took such a case against Bala without considering them. So, the long pending case of 'Pithamagan' producer VA Durai against director Bala has come to an end.

It's back-to-back days of relief for director Bala as the Madras High Court dismissed a case regarding 'Vanagaan' titled on Friday (July 19). In a case filed by S. Saravanan in the High Court, the petitioner demanded the court to refrain Bala from using the 'Vanangaan' title, but the court dismissed the case after hearing statements of both sides and signaled green for Bala to use the title.

Bala is preparing to deliver 'Vanangaan' featuring Arun Vijay in the lead role, and the film is aiming for a release date in August.
