Madras High Court dismisses case against Suriya and TJ Gnanavel over Jai Bhim controversy

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, 'Jai Bhim' starring Suriya was not only a bumper hit, but the film also bagged several awards. The direct OTT release stirred up controversy for a sequence targeting a certain community, and a case was filed against Suriya and TJ Gnanavel over it. Now, Madras High Court has dismissed the case against Suriya and TJ Gnanavel over the 'Jai Bhim' controversy. In reply to the complaint filed, the 'Jai Bhim' duo has filed a petition to cancel the case since the controversial scenes in the film were reportedly deleted before the complaint was filed.

A judge, who heard the case a few days back said that no strict action should be taken in the case against director TJ Gnanavel and actor Suriya. Therefore in yesterday's hearing, the Judge, who heard the case, dismissed it, accepting the petition from the actor and the director. Almost after ten months, the 'Jai Bhim' controversy has come to an end, and fans and stars are relaxed now.

'Jai Bhim' narrates the real-life story of Justice Chandru and has Suriya reprising him in the lead role with Lijimol Jose and Manikandan in the main roles. The film was also selected for Oscars under multiple categories, but it failed to make it to the final nominations.
