is written and directed by

, who also stars as the male lead in it.

The film is said to be about a

The film's team claims that when the story of the film appeared in the media in Kerala, the director started receiving

death threats

over phone. A source from the film unit told us, "These threats came from a criminal team in Kerala which is also part of the one in Tamil Nadu. Despite the threats, Baiju is now busy shooting the final schedule of the film. He hasn't filed any complaint about these threats as he wants to get the film censored before seeking any protection. The film will hit screens soon and who the mafia don is will come to limelight soon after that."

Maaya Maaligai is said to be a horror film with equal doses of romance and comedy. The film's female lead is played by
