The film's director Balaji Mohan, who was thrilled with the song being featured on a global platform, shared the video of the performance and tweeted, "Killer performanceFire by Indian boys from the @x1x_crew on #BritainsGotTalent this week :) For #Maari #Tharalocal :)" He also tagged Anirudh and Dhanush to share his happiness with them.

Released in 2015, Maari is known for its chartbuster thara local songs, and this title song, titled

Maari Thara Local

, written by Dhanush and sung by Dhanush and Anirudh, is one of the well-remembered elements from the action comedy. The song, which features in the film as the introduction to Dhanush's character — a local don — also had Anirudh shaking his legs with the actor for a brief while.

X1X performed a remixed version of this number for their amazing choreography that was a mix of flips, jumps, pyramids, and even mopeds. "X1X Crew are throwing EVERYTHING – including themselves – into their cinematic Semi-Final performance, filmed remotely in India!" reads the description of the video on the show's YouTube page. The dance crew floored the judges, especially guest judge

Ashley Banjo

and Amanda Holden. However, the team did not win on this episode and will have to bank on the public vote to remain on the show.
