It has been a while since Jai
Akash saw a release in Kollywood. After doing films like Roja Kootam, Ramakrishna and Three Roses, he kept himself busy in Telugu. And after a long gap, the actor has a couple of releases in Tamil. Akash plays an investigative officer in Rettai Piravi.
“It is an action thriller, which delves into a murder mystery. The mystery revolves around two identical twins, where one of them gets murdered.
There is a lot of confusion as to who died. I go to England to solve the case. It is an intense film and includes some phenomenal action sequences, too,” says Jai Akash. The film stars real twins Vignesh Selvaraj and Vikram Selvaraj and has London actresses Elizabeth Mannering, Bhavni Agarwal and Indian actress Alisha Chopra playing the female lead roles. Written and directed by Jai Nageswaran, the team has finished shooting for the film.
“We had a month-long workshop in London. I also took Vishal’s role in Thupparivaalan as a reference. However, I gave my own spin to the role,” he says. Ask him about the long gap and he smiles, “I wasn’t getting interesting scripts in Tamil. So, I went back to doing films in Telugu. I also think luck plays a huge role in your career. We have examples like Vikram sir, whose career saw a reboot after a long gap. Gladly, I’ve got to do some amazing films in Tamil over the last one year. Apart from this, I also have Thaanayan, Chennai To Bangkok and Munnaal Kadhali ready for release.”
