Krithi Shetty is enjoying the release of her latest film, ‘Love Insurance Kompany’, also known as ‘LIK’ directed by Vignesh Shivan, which stars ‘Dragon’ fame Pradeep Ranganathan. As the film was released in theatres, while promoting the movie, she recently shared her thoughts on cinema and also talked about her favourite Hollywood films.
Krithi Shetty speaks about ‘Barbie’
In a recent interaction with Sudhir Srinivasan, the young actress shared about how some films have changed her perspective over time. One such film is ‘Barbie’. Krithi Shetty shared that she is a big fan of the film. But she shared that she did not like it the first time. She said she thought it would be a “cutesy” film like a princess story. She expected something simple and sweet. So, she did not connect with it at first.
Krithi shared that the second time felt very different. She said, “The second time I watched it, I felt like, ‘Oh, this movie is beautiful! You really need to see it from some kind of perspective, and then it really hits.”
She also said the film shows how society looks at women. She felt people judged the film too fast. She said, “I wanted to say it for so long because I feel like people had so much disappointment towards the film, but it was really good.”
Directed by Greta Gerwig, the film stars
Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and Emma Mackey.
Kriti Shetty’s take on ‘Kill Bill’
Krithi also spoke about ‘Kill Bill’ by Quentin Tarantino. The film stars Uma Thurman as a fighter who wants revenge. Krithi said she loves that kind of action. She said, “I really am waiting for that to happen here more.” She wants a similar film in India. She also joked, “I just need my Tarantino.”
The ‘Uppena’ actress has trained in Taekwondo, so she feels ready for such roles.
