The adult horror comedy, ‘Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kuththu’, has landed in fresh controversy following a complaint filed by members of the LGBTQI community in Tamil Nadu. According to reports, the members of the community have called for a ban on the film for its offensive treatment against women and a homosexual character.
Transgender activist Apsara Reddy, along with fellow members of the community, have reportedly met the Chennai commissioner AK Viswanathan.
The activists also slammed ‘Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kuththu’ for its treatment on homophobia and "regressive" content.
Furthermore, Apsara has also demanded a public apology from
Gautham Karthik and Santhosh P Jayakumar for coming up with such a "derogatory" film. Reports also suggest that the activists are likely to meet the Tamil Film Producers’ Council President Vishal Krishna in the coming days.
Ever since its release last Friday, ‘Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kuththu’ has been associated with several controversies. Veteran filmmaker
Bharathiraja, producer J Sathish Kumar and director Vijay Milton have also criticised the film for its vulgarity and crass jokes. The makers are yet to respond to this issue.
