Salmaan will be acting in ad filmmaker Ra Karthik’s feature film debut,
Vaan
. The feel-good movie with a storyline that travels from Chennai to Kolkata will have three female leads and the director informs that he has roped in
Kalyani Priyadarshan, daughter of noted director Priyadarshan and Lissy Lakshmi, and
Kriti Kharbanda, who made her Tamil debut with Bruce Lee, for two of these roles.
He reveals the he chose Kalyani because he wanted someone who looked cute and chirpy. “I wanted someone like a Nazriya or Genelia for this role, and felt that Kalyani could play such a role. That she is also a fresh face was an added advantage,” he says. As for Kriti, he says that it was the TV commercials and Hindi films that she has done that made him sign her up.
“All the three female leads will not be your usual heroine roles; they will be respectable characters,” states Karthik.
The shoot of the film, which will be shot across the country, will begin by mid-December.
