Actor Krishna is a happy man these days. He talks to Chennai Times about his next venture and his dreams.
Krishna's acting hues
After Alibaba, Krishna has signed up a movie with Balaji Prasad. And he is very excited about this script, he says, adding, I heard about 30 scripts after Alibaba released.
I wanted to be careful about the script I chose. This is a very crucial period for me in the industry and I didnt want to make any mistake.

I chose two scripts out of them Madras with Krishna (Five Star fame) and Kattradhu Kalavu with Balaji Prasad.
While the movie with Krishna has been postponed, Kattradhu Kalavu will go on floors on April 9. Kattradhu Kalavu is a romantic comedy about a con couple. It will be about how they meet, what they do and the hilarious circumstances surrounding them. It will be an out and out comedy flick. Nirav Shah and Balaji have been great friends for more than a decade and immediately agreed to work behind the lens. The title of the movie has been designed to look like a chameleon, he reveals.
He says we are in for a surprise with this movie. I am paired up with Vijayalakshmi. She has undergone a tremendous transformation and looks completely different from what she looked in Chennai 28 and Anjathey, he says, complimenting her.
While Alibaba was an action film, Kattradhu is a comedy entertainer. And Krishna says he has gone the extra mile to make his role more authentic. I started watching moves from the same genre as Kattradhu... and noticed the body language of the actors. I am also learning gymnastics for a circus sequence in this film. A song will be filmed in a circus and I want to perform stunts without using a body double. I will also be donning different get ups and for that, I am learning different accents, he smiles.

Ask him why he chose to do a comedy while his first film was an action thriller and he says, After Alibaba released, a lot of my well-wishers said that I can make the audience laugh without much effort. I wanted to exploit this trait of mine, he says. He goes on to add, After Alibaba, I can memorise dialogues faster now, thanks to my directors.
However, Krishna has a dream, which he wants to realise soon. Till date, we dont have a single action comedy in Kollywood. We satisfy ourselves by watching dubbed versions of Jackie Chan movies. I hope I get to do an action comedy soon, he signs off.
