Kollywood bids farewell to K Balachander

The Tamil film industry came together to bid farewell one last time to one of its towering personalities, K Balachander, on Wednesday afternoon. Many stars whose careers had been shaped by the ace director were part of the funeral procession that also had a fair share of the Iyakkunar Sigaram���s fans. Rajinikanth, who was introduced by KB sir (as he was affectionately called) stayed by his mentor���s side during his last journey.Kamal Haasan, who was in the US, where he had gone for film-related work, wasn���t there; he later released a statement of condolence.
