Nikhila Vimal’s father MR Pavithran, who was undergoing treatment at Pariyaram medical college after testing positive for COVID-19, died on Wednesday. The 61 year old was undergoing treatment for coronavirus infection when he breathed his last following a cardiac arrest.
Pavithran, who retired from Statistical Department, had also worked as a teacher at Alakkode Rayarom UP School. He had also served as the state joint secretary and district secretary of CPI(ML). The cremation will be held on today (Thursday) at Trichambaram NSS Cemetery.
Pavithran is survived by his wife Kalamandalam Vimala Devi, daughters
Nikhila
and Akhila. While actress Nikhila Vimal is known predominatly for her roles in Malayalam film industry, she had is known for her roles in Sasikumar starrer 'Kidari' and Karthi starrer 'Thambi' in Tamil. She is currently working on Sibiraj's 'Ranga' directed by Vinod DL.
