Keerthy Suresh reveals her father’s reaction to having a Christian wedding with Antony Thattil: 'Who else will walk you down?'

Actress Keerthy Suresh recently celebrated her union with longtime boyfriend and entrepreneur Antony Thattil in a dreamy, intimate wedding in Goa. The celebrations included a South Indian wedding on December 12, followed by a white Christian wedding on December 15. The actress has now shared details about her father, producer G. Suresh Kumar’s reaction to her having a Christian wedding with her boyfriend.


Opening up in an interview with Galatta India, Keerthy reflected on their journey, which began in her teenage years, and the emotional significance of their marriage. “It’s a dream, literally. I can’t even call it a dream because we’ve had nightmares about eloping. My heart was full, and it was a very emotional moment for us because we always wanted this,” she shared.



Keerthy revealed that their relationship started modestly, with her still in school (12th standard) and Antony being seven years older.

The couple endured a lengthy long-distance relationship for around six years, with Antony working abroad in Qatar while Keerthy pursued her studies. Antony returned to India after 4-5 years, established his business in Cochin, and is now expanding to Chennai and potentially Dubai.

Despite the challenges of distance, Antony remained a steadfast support system throughout Keerthy's acting journey. Reflecting on her admiration for her partner, Keerthy remarked that she still sees much of her father in Antony , from his principles to the way he holds the entire family together. She added that she is very proud of the person he has become.

Keerthy also shared a heartwarming anecdote about her father’s unexpected involvement in the Christian wedding rituals. “I asked my father, ‘Dads are supposed to walk the bride down the aisle. Will you do that for me?’ He replied, ‘Yes, why not? We are doing both styles of the wedding, so why not? Who else will walk you down?’”

She admitted she was initially unsure of her father’s reaction and was overjoyed that he willingly took part in the ceremony for her.
