RDM and
Suresh Ravi, who had teamed up for the crime thriller Kavalthurai Ungal Nanban (KUN), are back together. The duo is coming together for the third time for a film, which is likely to go on floors in June.
“Suresh and I have been friends for over a decade and we wanted to make a film. So, we started Adhi Medhavigal. The film was done, but we needed time for post-production.
We then went on to make KUN, for which Suresh was one of the producers. Even before we could release our second film, we were verbally committed for a third film,” says RDM, adding, “Premnath sir had seen KUN, but we couldn’t sign the deal then because of COVID-19 - he lives abroad and couldn’t travel to the country for the formalities. We officially formalised the projects just a few days ago.”
So, what’s the film about? “It’s too early to reveal the genre, but I can say that Suresh will play a person who is working in the police department,” he says.
Vishnushri, who handled the camera for KUN, is the DOP for this new film as well. “Editor Ponraj is also onboard. We are yet to finalise the rest of the cast and crew,” says the filmmaker, adding, “We should be able to release Adhi Medhavigal in the next two months. We will go on floors with our new film by June end or first week of July, and will be shooting in Chennai, Pondicherry and Kodaikanal.”
