Karthi's 'Sardar' runtime revealed; censor details to be out soon

Popular Tamil actor Karthi recently played a winning role in Mani Ratnam's Pan-Indian release 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' and he has been receiving praise for his role as Vandiyadevan. Karthi will be next seen as a lead in 'Sardar' and the film is slated to release during Diwali this year. The PS Mithran directorial is a spy thriller and the film is just a week away from its theatrical release. If reports are to be believed, the upcoming film will have a run time of 2 hours and 46 minutes, and the film's censor details will be released soon.

Karthi is reportedly playing a dual role, and he will be sporting multiple looks for his role as a spy. Raashi Khanna and Laila play important roles, while the latter makes her come back to the movies after 16 years. The recently released teaser of 'Sardar' has built a decent buzz for the film, and the makers are expected to publish the trailer to drive expectations higher. GV Prakash Kumar has scored the music, and the film will be director PS Mithran's third film after the two superhit films 'Irumbu Thirai' and 'Hero'.

Karthi's 'Sardar' will be taking on Sivakarthikeyan's 'Prince' at the box office as both the Diwali releases are releasing on October 21st, and both films deal with different genres. It will be the second face-off between Sivakarthikeyan and Karthi at the box office after 'Hero' vs 'Thambi' which was released on the same date in December 2019.
