has been caused an impact on Karthi. Deeply saddened by the news, he took to his Twitter handle and paid condolences to her family. He further recalled the late grandmother's affectionate voice and pale smile which still stand before his eye today even after 14 years.


Panchavarnam played the role of Karthi's grandmother in 'Paruthiveeran' and delivered a strong performance. On the other hand, Karthi essayed a tough role as a brave and bold villager, and even bagged several awards for his debut. Priyamani played the female lead opposite Karthi, and won the National Award for the film.

On the work front, Karthi recently kick-started the works for his next film helmed by

PS Mithran

wherein he plays a dual role. The film is titled 'Sardar', and an interesting first look motion poster was released by the makers earlier. Karthi is also part of Mani Ratnam's '

Ponniyin Selvan

', and the film shooting is yet to be completed.
