'Karnan' Pandarathi Puranam: Court orders to send legal notices to Mari Selvaraj and the producer

', which is directed by Mari Selvaraj. The much-expected film is locked to release on April 9th, and the works for it are progressing steadily. 'Karnan' makers have released three songs composed by Santhosh Narayanan from the film so far, and the teaser is expected to release soon. As per the latest report, the team is facing trouble as the Court has ordered to send notices to Mari Selvaraj and the producer. The second single of 'Karnan' titled '

' sung by Deva was released on March 2nd, and it is doing well on social media platforms.

Prabhu, a resident of Subramaniapuram, Madurai, had reportedly filed a welfare petition in the High Court, Madurai branch, alleging that the lyrics of the song 'Pandarathi Puranam' were insulting to certain communities in Tamil Nadu. He also requested that 'Karnan' should be banned from releasing till the 'Pandarathi Puranam' song is removed and the censor certificate for the song should be revoked. Judges, who heard the case, have reportedly ordered to send notices to director Mari Selvaraj, 'Karnan' producer, Censor officer, and the YouTube channel, and adjourned the case to April 16th.

This might be a burden for the makers ahead of the film's release, and it may also affect the release of 'Karnan' if the case turns powerful. 'Karnan' features Dhanush, Rajisha Vijayan, Lal, Gouri G Kishan, Yogi Babu, and others, and the film produced is by Kalaipuli S Thanu's V Creations.
