‘Kanguva’ box office collections day 13: Suriya starrer rakes in Rs 68.47 crores

The slow trend is still visible in the box office collections for the Suriya starrer ‘Kanguva’.


According to the Sacnilk website, ‘Kanguva’ has managed to mint only Rs 68.47 crores in 13 days and on day 13 the movie has collected Rs 50 lakhs as per the early estimates by the website.



On Tuesday, November 26, ‘Kanguva’ had an overall 8.39 percent Tamil occupancy with morning shows at 6.44 percent, afternoon shows at 8.48 percent, evening shows at 7.37 percent, and night shows at 11.27 percent.


‘Kanguva’ 3D had an overall 11.39 percent Tamil occupancy on day 13 with morning shows at 10.52 percent, afternoon shows at 11.77 percent, evening shows at 11.08 percent, and night shows at 12.20 percent.


‘Kanguva’ was rated 2.5 out of 5 by ETimes and our review hailed Suriya’s performance even though the movie had confusing storytelling. ETimes review for ‘Kanguva’ reads, “Suriya also impresses as Kanguva – the difference he brings to his two characters in terms of body language is quite intriguing. And after a point, it becomes a one-man show, with Suriya solely carrying the entire film on his shoulders. Interestingly, although there is an overdose of information, you can see how the makers have carefully crafted this past world, which has a personality and culture of its own. For instance, each village has its own dance traditions, punishment plans, etc. Likewise, Kanguva’s village has a ritual of not using weapons while praying before a big war. There is also a focus on the kind of weapons they use – like a double-edged sharp stick. However, all of these are shown in glimpses..”
