Kamal Haasan's 'Pesumpadam' to re-release in theatres soon!

Kamal Haasan's classic film 'Pesumpadam' is reportedly said to re-release in theatres soon. The 1987 film directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao is a silent romantic dark comedy film. The movie's plot revolve around an unemployed graduate and the Kamal Haasan's production house took to social media on September 16 to announce that the film will be re-released in theatres. The announcement read, "#Pushpak #Pesumpadam, a pioneer in silent black comedy and an iconic masterpiece of Indian cinema, will be re-released in theatres soon. #Ulaganayagan #KamalHaasan #SingeethamSrinivasaRao@ikamalhaasan."

The movie starred Kamal Haasan, Samir Khakar, Amala, Tinu Anand, KS Ramesh among others. The film's music was composed by L Vaidyanathan. The film also won the Best Popular Film at the 35th Indian National Film Awards. Kamal Haasan is yet to announce the date of the re-release of the film.

Now, after 35 years, a film with the same concept, titled 'Gandhi Talks' starring Vijay Sethupathi is also in making and it is currently in post-production and will release in theatres soon.
