Kamal Haasan to Sathyaraj: Kollywood mourns the demise of Pratap Pothen

The South film industry is in a state of shock on the sudden demise of Pratap Pothen. Actor and director Prathap Pothen, who directed films like Jeeva, Vetri Vizha, Luckyman, My Dear Marthandan, Seevalaperi Pandi, passed away in Chennai. The renowned Indian actor and filmmaker was found dead at his flat in Chennai. From Kamal Haasan, who was acted in his direction to actor who have shared screen space with him have been offering their condolences to his family and paying tribute to the acclaimed director.
Sharing a BTS still from 'Vetri Vizha', Kamal Haasan posted in Tamil, which translates to, "Friend Pratap Pothen continued his avid literary reading and unquenchable interest in art films. I have seen during the 'Vetrivizha' period that he is also an expert in successfully directing lively films. Tribute to him."

Actress Gautami, who has acted in his Telugu film 'Chaitanya' and Tamil films, Sathyaraj-starrer 'Magudam' and 'Athma', posted, "I'm deeply saddened at the passing of Shri Prathap Pothen. Actor Sathyaraj, who has acted in two films, 'Jeeva' and 'Magudam' shared a video message offering his condolences to Pratap Pothen's family.

Srikanth posted, "You were a wonderful, jovial lovable person , fatherly friendly figure,u lived like a king .it was a pleasure working with u on the sets of COffee with kadhal will miss u achan #RIP pratap pothen sir."
