‘Manjummel Boys’, directed by Chidambaram, is receiving positive responses from both fans and critics. The film is also making an impact in Tamil Nadu due to the reference it has taken from Kamal Haasan’s 1991 film ‘Gunaa’. The Kamal Haasan starrer has a unique fanbase in South India due to the chartbuster song ‘Kanmani Anbodu Kadhalan’. The song was used in the climax as well as the title track of ‘Manjummel Boys’, and now Twitter is celebrating an old video showing the making of the original ‘Kanmani Anbodu Kadhalan’ by music maestro Ilaiyaraaja and Kamal Haasan. In the recently circulating video, Kamal Haasan can be heard asking Ilaiyaraaja to make this song a bit more romantic as his character is truly innocent and illiterate in the film. He wanted to use layman language and fewer ragas in the lyrics and composition of this song. Soon, it shows a transformation to the ‘Manjummel Boys’ climax scene, narrating how Kamal Haasan’s vision has changed the soul of this chartbuster song. The timeless song's lyrics were written by Vaali, while Kamal Haasan and S. Janaki lent their voices to it.

Directed by Chidambaram S Poduval, ‘Manjummel Boys’ tells the real story that happened in the Guna cave in Kodaikanal. Starring Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S.
