Kamal Haasan reminisced about the 20 year anniversary of his film

on Twitter on Tuesday. The actor turned politician expressed his sadness that the apprehensions and warning that his film spoke about is apparently come true according to him.

. Glad we made that film in time. Sad the apprehensions and warnings the film spoke about are coming true. We must surmount these challenges to the harmony of this country and we shall. Hum honge kaamiyaab," the actor tweeted.
Directed by Kamal and co-starring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Vasundhara Das, Atul Kulkarni and Girish Karnad alongside Kamal himself, the bilingual film explored the partition of India and the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. The period drama was lensed by Tirru and written by Kamal Haasan. The film's music was by Ilaiyaraaja.
