Veteran Tollywood actor and former MP Kaikala Satyanarayana, who has acted in a couple of Tamil films as well, passed away yesterday at his Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad. He is known to the Tamil audience for his role as Reddy in Kamal Haasan's 'Panchatanthiram'. Actor Kamal Haasan has shared his heartfelt tribute and offered his condolence.

The veteran actor died at the age of 87 in the early hours of Friday. Sharing his condolence, Kamal Haasan posted in Tamil, which translates to, "Kaikala Sathya Narayana, whom you saw in the movie Panchatanthiram, has not been away from cinema for 63 years. He has remained in the hearts of Telugu fans by playing various roles. Today is the time. Heartfelt tribute to him."


Kaikala is survived by his wife Nageswaramma, two sons and two daughters. He was reportedly suffering from age-related issues. The actor was also admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad a few weeks ago. After having been discharged, his health started deteriorating again, and he was in a critical condition. He has been a part of over 750 films.
