A brave son of India taken far too soon. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. India stands with you in this moment of immeasurable grief."

Tejas fighter jet crash during Dubai Airshow rehearsals

On Friday, during rehearsals for the Dubai Airshow 2025, the Indian Air Force pilot tragically lost his life in a Tejas fighter jet crash. The accident occurred in the afternoon when Wing Commander Syal's Tejas fighter aircraft crashed during a low-level aerobatic manoeuvre as part of the airshow preparations.

IAF issues official statement

The Indian Air Force released an official statement confirming the crash. A post was shared on the X (formerly Twitter) handle, "An IAF Tejas aircraft met with an accident during an aerial display at Dubai Air Show, today. The pilot sustained fatal injuries in the accident. IAF deeply regrets the loss of life and stands firmly with the bereaved family in this time of grief. A court of inquiry is being constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident."

On the work front, Kamal Haasan was last seen in the action thriller 'Thug Life' directed by Mani Ratnam, starring Silambarasan and Trisha Krishnan. Despite the film's hype, the movie saw a low reception at the box office and a mixed reaction from the fans.
