Kamal Haasan had recently made an announcement that he would bid goodbye to acting so that he could focus on his political career. But, much to everyone’s surprise the actor announced yesterday that
Thevar Magan 2
was in the pipeline. The original film,
Thevar Magan
(1992) starred
Sivaji Ganesan, Kamal Haasan,
Revathi,
Gauthami
and Nasser in crucial roles and revolved around the character Sakthivel, who solves the problems of villagers after the death of his father, a village chieftain. The film was directed by Bharathan and had music by Ilaiyaraja. The film won five National Awards. The news has come as a major surprise to his fans.
Interestingly, it was not long ago that Kamal had announced the sequel to Indian, Indian 2 on his show, Bigg Boss Tamil. Indian 2 will be directed by Shankar who also directed the original. This will be a third sequel in a row after Indian 2 and Vishwaroopam 2. Kamal Haasan is also working on the film Sabaash Naidu.
