with the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards. Vairamuthu first congratulated actor Rajinikanth on Twitter for bagging the Dadasaheb Phalke award and then made a plea to the central government.


"Friend Rajinikanth has added pride to the art world by receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Congratulations Oorkudi. The central government should note that there are also more prominent artists in Tamil Nadu who deserve the Dadasaheb Phalke Award as Kamal Haasan - Bharathiraja - Ilayaraja," conveyed Vairamuthu through his tweet.

Vairamuthu's statement has stirred up the debate, while fans have also joined the lyricist to demand the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Kamal Haasan, who has been serving the cinema industry for more than 60 years.


Meanwhile, Rajinikanth received a standing ovation at the arena when he received the Dadasaheb Phalke award, and he dedicated the prestigious award to his brother Sathyanarayana, old friend Raj Bahadur, and director K Balachander.
