Kalyani Priyadarshan reveals why she stopped sending flowers to her mom on Mother’s Day

On Mother’s Day today, Kalyani Priyadarshan, daughter of ace director Priyadarshan and actress Lissy has shared an interesting incident. She recalled that while she and her brother Sidharth were studying abroad, she wanted to surprise her mother by sending flowers on Mother’s Day.
As she knew that her mother was fond of yellow and orange flowers, she decided to send them. Since she was abroad, she had to take the help of her friend in Chennai to arrange it and get it delivered.Her friend readily agreed to do so and arranged for flowers and its delivery. However, Kalyani says that she was surprised to see several missed calls from her friend, when she returned from her classes. When she called her friend, she informed her that she could not deliver the flowers to her mother, as Lissy scolded the delivery boy and refused to accept it. Upon checking with Lissy, Kalyani came to know that there was some bomb scare going on in Chennai at that point of time, and people were on high alert not accepting parcels and consignments from strangers. Since the consignment had the sender’s name as Kalyani’s friend’s name, which her mom was not familiar; Lissy suspected it to be a bomb and refused to accept it. Moreover, Lissy was not aware that it was Mother’s Day. However, Kalyani says that since then she decided not to send flowers to her mother.
On the film front, Kalyani’s latest release in Tamil was Hero with Sivakarthikeyan. She has Vaan and Maanaadu in the pipeline in Tamil.
