'Kadhal Kottai'

Ajith and Devyani played the lead roles in the romantic drama 'Kadhal Kottai', which was directed by Agathiyan. The director has designed a new way of love story, and the lead characters will fall in love without meeting each other. Ajith and Devyani have delivered excellent performances which turned out as the reason for the film's success. Agathiyan has also bagged a couple of National Awards for Best Direction and Best Screenplay.

'Mugavaree'

Ajith played the role of a young man from a middle-class family, who desires to become a cinema composer. Ajith faces several hurdles in achieving his dream, and his performance in the film attracted many young people, who attempt to achieve their dream. Jyotika played the female lead, while Raghuvaran, Vivek, Manivannan, and K. Vishwanath played supporting roles in 'Mugavaree', which was directed by a debutant VZ Durai.

'Amarkalam'

Ajith played the role of a rough gangster, who is also an orphan, in the romantic thriller 'Amarkalam'. Ajith's romance with Shalini worked well in the film, and he fell in love with the actress while working for the film. Interestingly, 'Amarkalam' was Ajith's 25th film, and it marked his second film with director Saran. 'Amarkalam' turned out as a great hit at the box office, and it was also remade in Telugu and Kannada with different titles.

'Billa'

Ajith made a strong comeback as a gangster in 'Billa', which was directed by Vishnuvardhan. Ajith was so stylish and classy throughout the film, while Yuvan Shankar Raja's fiery music impressed many. The film's story is based on 1980 'Billa' starring Rajinikanth, and Ajith was compared with Rajinikanth after the film's success.

'Mankatha'

Ajith will always be keen while delivering a landmark film. After the success of the 25th film, Ajith again achieved a grand success with his 50th film 'Mankatha', which was directed by Venkat Prabhu. Surprisingly, Ajith played a negative shaded character in the film, while Action King Arjun played a key role as his secret friend. 'Mankatha' has a separate fan base, and this film will surely be the favorite books of Ajith.
