K Balachander critical, but stable

Veteran director K Balachander, who was admitted in Kaveri hospital in Chennai a couple of days ago, has been showing signs of improvement. The 84 year old director has supposedly developed urinary tract infection. Actor Prakash Raj who visited the director yesterday, tweeted, "Was next to my mentor Kb sir.. Signs of improvement. He is a fighter. Just keep wishing him in your hearts.Cheers."
Meanwhile, a press statement from the hospital read, "Veteran film director Mr K Balachander, 84 year, has developed urinary tract infection and admitted to the ICU for further treatment. He is critical but his general condition is stable. He is ably managed by a team of senior doctors."
