Ponmagal Vandhal
set in Ooty.
Directed by debutant JJ Fredrick, the team shot most of the film in Ooty. During the time of their shoot, Ooty witnessed heavy rainfall. And it was during this time when the actor visited the sets. Recalling the incident, Jyotika said, "Suriya is a great husband and doesn't interfere or come to shoots. We were shooting in Ooty, and it was during that time when it recorded the highest rainfall. So, he just came to ensure we were OK."
So did he see the film? "Ah yes, he saw the film and liked it. The issue the film deals with is close to my heart. We keep reading it in the news often and I discuss with Suriya about it. They say that universe works towards your thoughts, right? So, when Fredrick came to with the script, I immediately accepted it. Suriya knows how close the issue is to me. And yes, I am glad that he liked the film."
