Jayam Ravi starrer 'Agilan' to skip Christmas release

Jayam Ravi recently impressed fans with his bold avatar as Arunmozhi Varman in Mani Ratnam's historical drama 'Ponniyin Selvan'. The charming actor will be next seen in 'Agilan', which is directed by Kalyan Krishnan, and he reportedly plays a dual role in the action thriller. Now, the latest report suggests that Jayam Ravi's 'Agilan' will be postponed from Christmas release. 'Agilan' was initially planned to release ahead of 'Ponniyin Selvan' in August. But the film got delayed due to the post-production work, and the makers recently aimed to release the film for the Christmas weekend. Whereas the makers weren't able to progress with the planned date due to promotional plans and other major releases.

‘Agilan' has been postponed from Christmas weekend release and the film is now expected to arrive in theatres in February. Meanwhile, the digital and satellite rights of 'Agilan' have been sold for a record price, and the expectations are high since it marks the actor's first release after 'Ponniyin Selvan'. 'Agilan' features Jayam Ravi, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Tanya Ravichandran, and Rachit Jadoun in lead roles, while the film's music is scored by Sam CS.

Jayam Ravi is currently shooting for 'Siren' and an untitled film, which is directed by M Rajesh, and he is traveling across locations for the shooting of both films. Jayam Ravi has also completed the work for 'Iraivan', which is directed by I Ahmed, and the film's post-production work is also happening briskly.
