Janani takes inspiration from Sridevi

That Janani’s portions in the upcoming horror thriller

Balloon

is set in the late 80s is known. And now, we’ve learnt that she has taken

inspiration

from none other than Sridevi for her role. Janani says she used Sridevi’s character in

Moondram Pirai

as a reference point.
She says, “The film is set in the late 80s and everyone knows what that period was like when it came to fashion. A major portion of Balloon was shot in Kodaikanal and I’ll mostly be seen wearing pavada sattai in it. So, when I spoke to my director about it, we decided to incorporate some of the basic styles from Sridevi ma’am’s look in Moondram Pirai.”

Ask Janani about her role in the film and she says with a laugh, “I play the love interest of the Jai who sells balloons! My character is integral to the script. Except for the cold climate of Kodai, I enjoyed shooting every single day. The team is fun to be with and I’ve some fond memories associated with the film.”
