'Jana Nayagan' release update: Producer says CBFC process nears completion; Vijay's film may arrive In 14 days

The release of 'Jana Nayagan' appears to be just around the corner. The film stars Vijay in the lead role. Its theatrical debut had remained uncertain for months due to delays in the certification process.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai on May 10, producer Venkat K Narayana shared a positive update. He said the film is likely to reach theatres within the next 14 days.



CBFC clearance process for 'Jana Nayagan' underway

As reported by Filmibeat, according to the producer, the final stages of certification are currently in progress. Discussions with the Central Board of Film Certification are ongoing.

Directed by H. Vinoth, the film has been one of the most discussed Tamil releases in recent months. The project faced delays due to certification-related issues. It also drew attention after an online leak controversy last month.

Venkat K Narayana praises Vijay

During his media interaction, Venkat K Narayana praised Vijay’s discipline and dedication. He said the actor-politician is known for keeping his promises.

The producer also linked the title 'Jana Nayagan' to what he described as a new political phase in Tamil Nadu under Vijay’s leadership. He referred to Vijay as a leader with a strong connection to ordinary people.

He briefly mentioned the challenges faced by the production in recent months. Calling some incidents unfortunate, he said the team is now fully focused on the film’s release.

The ensemble cast of 'Jana Nayagan' includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, and Gautham Vasudev Menon.

Vijay begins his new political journey

Meanwhile, C. Joseph Vijay took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday. The founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam assumed office after securing support from the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and the Indian Union Muslim League.

Their backing increased his strength to 120 MLAs. This was two more than the majority mark of 118 in the state assembly.


Kamal Haasan was among the first prominent personalities to congratulate Vijay. He wrote, "May the state of Tamil Nadu shine under the leadership of the president of the Tamil Nadu Victory League, the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, my brother Thiru. Vijay @TVKVijayHQ .
