James takes the rural route
Music director James Vasanthan is busy wrapping up the re-recording work for Vizha of Sri Thenandal Films and Azure Entertainment, produced by N Rama Narayan and Sunir Kheterpal. About the tracks for the film, he says, It is an out-and-out rural script, and I had to use rustic instruments throughout the film to give that authentic feel. I took cinematic liberties only for the romantic songs in which I have used common instruments.

The hero plays a parai in the film and that instrument was majorly used in most of the scenes.
Adds the composer, The lead characters meet up only during death sequences as the situations are like that. There is a song in this film, Sollama Kollama, which is interesting as we have used the same lyrics for this death song as well as for a romantic number. It has been differently picturised too.
James Vasanthan has been composing music mostly for village-based stories these days. He says, I have been used to urban living, but as a composer, I have been receiving many rural-based scripts. For a change, Im craving for urban stories. Many think I am a village music specialist and I have been approached repeatedly for that genre. When I was offered Subramaniapuram, a rural subject, I wondered if I would be able to compose tunes for a village script. Later, the appreciation I got for that album has given me enough confidence to take up other such projects."
